The Greenbank Agricultural and Lifestyle Association Inc. acknowledges the generous support of the   Department of Infastructure and Planning (Local Government)

The Mission of the Society

The Greenbank Agricultural and Lifestyle Show Association Inc. was established to promote improvement in the breeding and quality of livestock and to encourage the development of agricultural, floricultural, industrial and pastoral resources of the Greenbank district, by holding exhibitions of livestock, including horses, dogs, poultry, cattle, agricultural produce, vegetables, fruit, flowers, machinery, manufactures as well as displaying fine arts and crafts by district residents and giving prizes for the best exhibits.

The secondary object for the Society is to foster and conduct such equestrian competitions, rodeo events and sports meetings as the Management Committee may consider appropriate to cater for the needs of district residents.

The end result is that the show keeps alive, the " Greenbank Community Spirit - a country spirit of caring for others " - something we are all proud of and strive to maintain and improve .

History of the Society

The Greenbank Show Society was formed in 1983. The first show was held at the current Greenbank Show grounds in 1984.

What is the Society's Future

In the past 25 years, the show has changed in many ways but has always focused on promotion of Agriculture and Industry plus the display of Arts and Crafts from the Greenbank district. This includes the involvement of children in all events and the arts and craft displays. It is hoped that future committees will never lose sight of these ideals and the Greenbank Show remain a Country Show for the area and surrounding districts regardless of how much suburbia expands into rural properties. The current committee, like its predecessors, holds the ideals of a country show promoting historic and technological exhibits together, community group information stands/displays and fun for all ages at affordable prices for families as their major focus.

If you share these views and would like to be involved in the future directions of the Society or just wish to assist in the organisation and running of next year's show, please contact us. See the pages relating to membership and/or volunteers for more details. Everyone on the current committee is a volunteer. There are no paid positions in the society and we all do it to promote our district with the aim of making the Greenbank district a better place to bring up our families.
