The Greenbank Show Society welcomes new members and encourages existing members to renew their membership now. This is an opportunity to become involved with exciting expansions of the Show Society and to promote agriculture, industry and our way of life in the Greenbank community. If you are new to the area, come along and meet the locals. This is a great way to get involved with your community and help to improve conditions and facilities at the Greenbank Showgrounds/Community Centre in Teviot Road. This is already a facility to be proud of and is getting better as every year passes.
Membership costs consist of a $ 10 annual subscription for FULL membership with voting rights or you can join as an Associate Family Member which entitles you as a family of two adults and four concession entries to attend the two days of the show each year free of charge and other functions throughout the year at member's rates. The cost of this Family Membership each year is a one-of fee of $30 and must be paid at least 2 days prior to the Annual Show. For the 2010-2011 year and the 2011 Show, this date is Thursday 3rd March 2011. Membership is valid for one calendar year from the day your application is received by the Secretary.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Greenbank Showgrounds/Community Centre - Currong Room 1 commencing at 7.30 pm. All are welcome, so why not come along and help us plan for future shows and set promotional strategies for a better Greenbank community.
We are a non-profit organisation and the rewards of our efforts go back to the community. Our most recent project has been lighting the Main Oval with floodlights for all to use, not just during the Show Weekend in March. We intend to continue with more lighting in the future along with other very important projects like providing more toilet and shower/change facilities for sporting activities at the Showgrounds/Community Centre, shaded seating at the main oval, perimeter fencing to provide more safety for children and to stop the "Volleyballers" from having to chase well struck shots out onto Teviot Rd.
Logan City Council, our local Councillor, Cr. Hajnal Ban and our Patrons, City of Logan Mayor Pam Parker, John Mickel MP - State Member for Logan, Ian Rickuss MP- State Member for Lockyer and Karen Struthers MP - State Member for Algester, are all keen supporters of our projects and with more support from the local community, these projects can get bigger and better all the time.
