Volunteers

Every year at the annual show, we always need assistance. There are numerous jobs to be done during the set-up, the running of the events and the clean up. If you would like to help with any of these tasks, we would really appreciate your assistance. At the show society, we are ALL volunteers. So join in and have fun with the rest of us.

This is an opportunity to help the community, gain experience in event management and have fun assisting people, especially the children, to enjoy themselves. This is what the Greenbank Show Society and the Annual Event is all about - to promote the Greenbank Region and give people a chance to have fun with their family at affordable prices.

IF you are interested in the HORSE events - we need help there also;

There are vacancies for Horse Stewards, "Runners" and Administration Staff for the events.

We need help from local Pony Club members and the general public who will not be competing on the Show days but have a vague, or even better, a working knowledge of a horse hacking show. Please Remember - the Greenbank Show Society is run completely by volunteers. The only people paid for their work are the Professional Judges. We run the horse Show soley for the enjoyment and involvement of all SEQ horse owners whether they are trying to get qualifying points for the RNA, the Sydney Royal Easter Show or are just in it for the fun, to give their horse experience in these shows or to get some experience for themselves.

There is no better feeling than taking home a ribbon from a win or place in a class that you have entered just for the experience, or, working as a volunteer in the Rings, watching the pleasure it gives people to do this - especially young people at their first show. It makes all your work and effort as a volunteer worthwhile. Those of us who are addicted to working at these Horse Shows believe that it is directing our youngsters down the right path and the Community are the benificiaries.

We provide the Professional Judges, the Prize Ribbons, the Prize Money and the facilities - but we need volunteer helpers. Like all "not for profit" organisations, we are totally dependant on volunteers.
