DEXTER CATTLE COMPETITION

DEXTER CATTLE SHOW REGULATIONS

  1. Age of cattle will be as shown adjacent to each class in the Show Schedule
  2. All cattle must be owned by the exhibitor. All entries must be transferred to the Exhibitor’s stud or, registered in the DCAI herdbook or, an ‘Application to Register’ and Parent Verification has been received by the DCAI Registrar, by the closing date of the Show.
  3. All exhibitors must be Financial members of the DCAI as of entry closing date for the Show
  4. All cattle must be on the grounds by 8 am on the day of the Show
  5. All cattle must be NLIS tagged and the tag be read prior to the Show
  6. All identifying tags or markings on exhibits must be removed
  7. All animals to be accompanied by the appropriate waybill
  8. All animals must be free of ticks, lice, warts and other infectious diseases & be good Breed examples
  9. Substitution of animals will not be permitted after entry closing date for the Show
  10. Animals not being shown will not be permitted on the grounds
  11. Bulls over 12 months are to have nose rings fitted and a secure halter
  12. Bulls 6 – 12 months are to have nose rings or nose clips fitted and a secure halter
  13. Females 12 months and over are to have nose clips fitted and a secure halter
  14. During judging, handlers will be neatly attired. Appropriate footwear must be worn. It is not permissible to wear any article of clothing or item which may identify the owner or breeder of the animal in the show ring
  15. Handlers of stock must exercise control over the animals in their care at all times. A handler whose animal becomes uncontrollable in the ring may be ordered by the Steward to remove the animal
  16. A calf may be entered either in a junior class or in a class with it’s dam, but not both
  17. No drug, hormone or tranquilliser, which may have a material effect on it being awarded a ribbon, will be administered to any animal
  18. It is the exhibitors responsibility to follow the Stewards directions and be ready on time
  19. The Committee reserves the right to make alterations to classes and transfer incorrect entries into the correct class and adjudicate on any points arising and make alterations deemed necessary
  20. All exhibitors and spectators are required to extend courtesy at all times to judges, show officials, fellow exhibitors and spectators attending the show. Any person being abusive or exhibiting disruptive or threatening behaviour may be warned by the Committee to cease the said behaviour. Failure to comply will entitle the committee to exclude and disqualify that person and entry, and/or call the Police for assistance and request such person be removed from the show venue
  21. All mains voltage electrical equipment must display a current Test and Tag
  22. There will be no refund of any Fees after entry closing date for the Show

This Society will not under any circumstances hold itself liable for any accident, loss, damage or non- delivery of livestock or other exhibits at the Society’s Show, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this Society blameless and indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising through any accident, loss, non delivery or damage whatsoever.

In interpreting the above regulations, any decision made by the Show Committee is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Exhibitors must arrange their own public liability insurance.

Judging will commence at 9am Saturday 5 th March 2011. Entry Fee....... $5.00 per entry

Entries close Friday 25 th February 2011. No late entries will be accepted.

NOTE: Entry to the Show Ground for Cattle Competitors is via Leanne Court - ONLY. This is the street south of the Show Grounds off Teviot Road and is a competitor's gate only. Vehicles will NOT be permitted to drive through the Show Grounds when the public are present and there will be no exceptions to this rule. This is to keep vehicle movements away from the general public.
